My Worst Experience with Murdock Hyundai Lindon If I remember correctly, I have purchased four or five new vehicles from Murdock Hyundai Lindon, and until now, I had always had excellent experiences. Unfortunately, this time was completely different — and honestly, it was the worst car-buying experience I have ever had there. I decided to trade in my 2026 Palisade SEL for another 2026 Palisade of the same model and trim, but this time I wanted the hybrid version. I want to make it clear that the salesperson was excellent throughout the entire process. He was patient, helpful, and genuinely seemed to be trying to find the best option within my budget. However, after purchasing the vehicle, I discovered that the Digital Key was not available on the new vehicle, even though it was the same model year and trim. This was extremely frustrating because the Digital Key was an important feature for me. As a result, I had to consider a higher trim and pay more just to get the feature I originally expected to have. I eventually switched to another vehicle that had the feature I wanted. But when I got home, I discovered something even more upsetting: the vehicle I had just purchased as a “new” vehicle had 214 miles on it, while the paperwork I signed stated that the vehicle had only 11 miles. I immediately returned to the dealership and spoke with the manager. His explanation was that this was a common practice because the vehicle had been used as a test-drive vehicle. So, to summarize: I paid more money for the vehicle and ended up purchasing what had essentially been a test-drive vehicle, while the paperwork I signed stated 11 miles and the vehicle had 214 miles when I received it. I honestly don’t have the words to describe how disappointed, frustrated, and hurt I am by this experience. What makes this even more upsetting is that I have been a loyal Murdock customer and have purchased multiple vehicles from this dealership over the years. I actually chose to continue doing business with Murdock instead of purchasing from another dealership that was offering me better terms because I believed that my loyalty and previous experiences with Murdock meant I could trust them. Unfortunately, I feel like that trust was misplaced. I learned a very expensive lesson: loyalty does not necessarily mean you will be treated better. My advice to anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from this dealership is to be extremely careful. Check the mileage yourself, verify every feature, and read every document very carefully before signing anything. After this experience, I would strongly recommend that people think twice — or even a thousand times — before buying a vehicle here. I expected much better from a dealership where I had already purchased so many vehicles. This experience completely changed the way I view Murdock Hyundai Lindon.

At no time did we feel presurred or hurried to make a decision on purchase. When we told him we wanted to visit other dealerships he was very understanding. He put our transaction on hold and we said we would be returning. At other dealerships we contrasted the way other dealership sales people approached us and assessed our interests. Really, there was no comparison. When we returned to Hyundai after visiting other dealerships, Kyle invited us to take the Venue on another test drive alone - this time in another Venue that would save us about $200. Upon returning from the test drive, we decided that we liked the original model with its sunroof and he proceeded to draw up the purchase contract. Kyle's friendly and unhurried approach made us feel that he cared about our choosing the best car for our needs. Kyle assured us that we could stop by any time or call him or text him and he would answer questions or show us how to use particular features for the Venue. Financing with Will Moore went smoothly. Buying a used car from JR Nelson at Murdock Hyundai Lindon was an excellent experience. I've had plenty of the typical scammy interactions with car salesman before and there were none of those vibes here with JR. He was patient, accommodating, and really worked with me to get the price I wanted for my trade in and for the vehicle I was purchasing. I was purchasing remotely, so it was very important that I felt confident in the dealership and salesperson. Can't say enough good things. Great experience, I'd highly recommend JR and Murdock Hyundai.
